Pools of Refreshing meets quarterly in the Timothy Chapel on Sunday Evenings from 6-8 PM. We desire to provide an opportunity for women of the Rochester and surrounding community to enjoy and experience God’s presence through extended worship, sharing, testimonies, and prayer. Our next scheduled POOLS events are sunday, February 19 and May 20, 2012. What is Pools of Refreshing? Pools of Refreshing is a meeting for women that encourages connecting with God and enjoying Him and one another. Its hallmarks are an extended worship time and prayer ministry. Events are held in January/February, April/May, August, and November. Why is it called Pools of Refreshing? In Biblical times, people would go to pools for healing, cleansing, and fellowship. Today, as we come to Pools of Refreshing and are in God’s presence, worshipping Him and giving Him glory, hearing from and being touched by Him, sharing our hearts and praying with one another, we are amazingly refreshed.
"Pools of Refreshing was really awesome! At first, it almost felt a little awkward being in a room with a bunch of women from all different places in life and different churches. But that changed as we woshiped together and listened to testimonies of what God is doing in different women's lives. I could totally feel God's presence. It was exciting to see that though we are all so different...we are going after the same God." .......Machell
The meetings have a more retreat-like atmosphere. Each meeting offers different teachers and a different format. However, there will always be an extended worship time, opportunities to share insights God may give to individuals, opportunities to receive prayer, and opportunities for fellowship.
"Pools of Refreshing' is a time for us as a community of women to come together to worship our great God. As we focus on who God is, we are able to lay aside our burdens and cares, connecting with God and each other. ....we sing songs of worship, read Scripture, hear testimonies and teaching, observe art and drama, and have the opportunity to pray with others. Each meeting uniquely combines these elements to provide variety that meets the needs of women, refreshing us to serve others." ...........Julie
