Mothering is the most important job you will ever have! The MOPS ministry at ARC reaches out to Moms of Preschoolers and helps them connect with other women in our community. We seek to encourage, educate, and support moms of preschoolers socially, emotionally, and spiritually through biblical teaching. During the sessions, women receive a hot breakfast, enjoy great fellowship with other moms in their small group, and hear sound teaching on an area that pertains to motherhood. While women attend MOPS, their children (pre-school aged or younger) attend MOPPETS where they enjoy a craft, music time and a Bible story. MOPS meets in the Middle School Room the first and third Thursdays of each month from September to May from 9:15 to 11:30 am. The 2011-2012 theme "What's Cooking? Recipes for a Healthy Home" is based on Psalm 34:8, "Taste and see that the Lord is good." Our winter topics include: Dr. Phil in the Kitchen, Spa Day, "Steering" Help, The Whine Course, WOW's favorite recipes for discipline, Head Cook/the look of submission in 2012, Dessert, Cook's Choice, and a well earned KP break. "MOPS has brought me closer to God through friendships and conversations with other Christian mothers. It has taught me how integral God is in my parenting strategies, my marriage, and in our family life." "One of the things MOPS has meant to me is...to be given the chance to step away from motherhood duties long enough to remember the big picture, the importance of what we are doing by investing our time into the lives of our kids, to realize how precious these times are, and to get the views and advice of moms who have already been there." "I have found myself opening up more with my faith, becoming more active in my home church, more comfortable talking to my sons about God and the Bible... I have found my relationship with my husband strengthened... and...myself spiritually enriched." MOPS fees include: ~ $24 MOPS international Registration fee this includes group membership, MomSense Magazine, and other fun gifts from MOPS headquarters ~2 Semester Fees/year include: * $15 for no children in MOPPETS Scholarships are available.
